GQA very own Sean Hayes in the Mastermind Hot Seat answering all your questions on GQA CSCS Q Cards.
Your Name please? Sean Hayes
Your Job role? GQA Technical manager
Your Specialist subject? CSCS cards from GQA
One of the biggest changes, and in turn, greatest opportunities for GQA and our Approved Centres is the agreement between CITB and GQA that since September 1st this year the only organisation issuing CSCS cards for the Glass Industries is GQA.
Our involvement until recently has been by providing qualifications for many of the occupations that require CSCS cards, Centres may have gone a little further by informing candidates of the need to complete the CITB touch screen test.
The next step was GQA’s Q-Card being accepted as a partner card, but this was only for GQA achievers from recent times. The individual could still, if they preferred, request the card directly from CSCS. Now there is no Plan B-it’s GQA only!
This workshop will help you understand the following:
• Types of cards available
• Application process
• H&S test options
• Removal of the CRO card-now what?
The session will also have a Q&A session and supply answers to some of the scenarios posed by individuals, Centres and Employers including those below:
• CRO card holders suggesting they will get a labourer card and carry on doing whatever they do
• Cards achieved by Industry Accreditation (often referred to as Grandfather rights) and what happens when they expire
• Occupations that still have no qualification
