Warrington Based Employer Committed to Training

Pictured is Thomas Johnson a fabricator for Britplas, an aluminium door, window and curtain wall manufacturer based in Warrington, Cheshire. He has recently completed his GQA Qualifications level 2 Glass Fabrication through North Lancashire Training Group (NLTG) with his dedicated tutor Paul Fairhurst. His manager, Jordan Baker is seen here handing over his supporting structures certificate and NLTG Apprenticeship certificates.

Thomas had no prior fabrication experience prior to joining Britplas a couple of years ago and has taken to it like a duck to water. His manager Jordan Baker and Director Colin Duncan stated,

“Thomas has been exemplary throughout the course and his time here at Britplas so far, this led us to promote him a few months ago to door section team leader, he is a valued and committed member of staff in his department with consistent good reports from his peers. He is worthy of the achievements made so far and we would like to congratulate Tom on achieving his level 2 Apprenticeship.”

Thomas stated, “I have enjoyed my Apprenticeship and learning so far at Britplas, I like the job because of the number of different skills I have had to develop. The company put a lot of time in with me when I first joined them and I would like to thank all involved so far. I have also enjoyed my time with Paul from NLTG who has been helpful and supported me throughout my course.”

Britplas have worked with NLTG for a number of years and the majority of staff employed by them have completed courses. NLTG tutor Paul Fairhurst stated, “Britplas are committed to training and investing in staff and have recently helped several employees move up to an advanced level. They believe in giving people a chance and the opportunity to learn.” Britplas have also recently been entered for the 2018 National Apprenticeship Award Employer of the Year, an award that they have been close to winning on 2 occasions in recent years.
