Engineering qualifications

These qualifications provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to work within a wide range of Engineering roles and Electrical, Instrument and Control, and Mechanical disciplines.

Competence qualifications:

  • Are achieved in the workplace* and usually based on National Occupational Standards
  • Enable individuals to demonstrate their skills in a wide range of Engineering disciplines
  • SVQs are competence qualifications regulated and achieved in Scotland

No previous qualifications are required, however, it is expected that at Level 3 learners will have a fundamental level of experience and induction of the sector.

* The Performing Engineering Operations qualifications may be achieved in a simulated environment.

If you need to obtain a CSCS card but do not have the relevant qualification, please contact us and we will advise you what you need to do.
