The qualification is designed for learners who wish to enter the plastering occupation and develop the practical skills and underpinning knowledge needed to work as an improver or supervised operative. It introduces plasterboard installation, application of finishing plaster and repair of damaged plasterboard and plastered surfaces. The qualification supports progression into employment, an apprenticeship, further trade training or a competence-based occupational qualification. Achievement demonstrates performance within specified assessment conditions and does not constitute confirmation of full occupational competence.
