These qualifications provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to work within Meteorology and Weather Forecasting.
Competence qualifications:
- Are achieved in the workplace and usually based on National Occupational Standards
- Enable individuals to demonstrate their skills in a wide range of roles and activities in the Meteorology and Weather Forecasting Industry
These qualifications are supported by the Royal Meteorological Society.
No previous qualifications are required, however, it is expected that learners will have a fundamental level of experience and induction of the sector.
Achievement of these qualifications also enables an individual to achieve recognition as a Registered Meteorologist (RMet) or Chartered Meteorologist (CMet) through the Royal Meteorological Society’s professional accreditation schemes.
