BREAKING NEWS – FREE CSCS Apprentice Cards

Following the recent statement by CSCS related to the issuing of free Apprentice Cards (see Construction Skills Certification Scheme | Official CSCS Website – Supporting apprentices with free CSCS cards), GQA has considered the rationale for this and has made the decision to support the gesture.

True apprentices are a key part of solving the skills gap issues prevalent within the UK-wide Fenestration and Construction sectors, and CSCS feedback suggests that many employers are either unaware of the Apprentice Card or are put off applying due to the lengthy apprenticeship registration process.

GQA will shortly review its internal processes and documentation to enable smooth transition to a free Apprentice card and will issue a further communication shortly.
