Phil Douglas role at GQA

I mostly work out in the field with our centres and their staff. My role is to ensure that our centre’s staff are fully competent and compliant in all aspects relative to the jobs they do. I especially like to ensure fairness, consistency and quality in relation to the assessment of learners progressing in their careers and trying to better themselves.

What is the biggest challenge/most important thing you do in your job?

The biggest and at the same time most rewarding challenge for me is ensuring compliance and fairness in assessment on a standardised approach with all the centres.

The joint biggest challenge is traffic!

Tell us something you enjoy about your job.

I enjoy meeting people and seeing the pride the candidates take in their achievements. I also enjoy visiting site locations, especially the high rise developments!

If there is anything else you would like to add about yourself or your job please do so here

I am a big Liverpool FC supporter being a local lad, and winning the Premier League after a 30 year wait is something I will really enjoy. It’s great to have a passion for something in life and this is one of mine.
